| Levosiz is a third generation non-sedative antihistamine,(as it crosses blood brain barrier to a very lesser extent) & is developed from the second generation antihistamine cetirizine. Chemically, levocetirizine is the active R-enantiomer of cetirizine. |
Composition
Levosiz : levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5mg.
Levosiz 10 : levocetirizine dihydrochloride 10 mg.
Levosiz MD : levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5mg. Mouth dissolving tablet in Strawberry flavor |

| Indications |
Allergic rhinitis
Rhinitis asthma
Chronic idiopathic urticaria &
Other allergic manifestations.
Dosage:
1 tablet (5mg) once a day, maximum dose is 10mg daily in chronic and
severe conditions.(either single dose or in two divided doses)

Neurologic: Asthenia (2.3% ), Somnolence (children 3%; adults 5% to
6% )
Respiratory: Nasopharyngitis (4% to 6% ), Pharyngitis (1% to 2% ), Xerostomia (2% to 3% )
Other: Fatigue (1% to 4% ), Fever (children 4% )

| Precautions |
Concurrent alcohol use
Concurrent use of central nervous system depressants
Impaired mental alertness and motor coordination; avoid driving and
operating dangerous machinery
Impaired renal function; levocetirizine is substantially excreted by the
kidney, may lead to increased risk of adverse reactions

| Contraindications |
End-stage renal disease (creatinine clearance less than 10 mL/min) and
patients undergoing hemodialysis
Known hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, cetirizine, or any product
ingredient
Pediatric patients aged 6 to 11 years with impaired renal function
