| Mechanism of action |
Rabeprazole belongs to class of proton pump inhibitors which suppress gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the gastric H+ / K+ ATPase at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cells. It does not have anti cholinergic or anti histaminic properties. |

| Side effects |
Adverse events with Rabeprazole are mild to moderate in intensity and include malaise, diarrhoea, nausea, skin eruptions, headache and dizziness. |

Hypersensitivity to Rabeprazole, substituted benzimidazoles or any of components of its pharmaceutical forms.
